Wet weather road works and chain e-mail

Yes folks, this is a TWO PART episode! I’ll try to keep it short as possible.

Part 1 - Wet weather road works

Why is it, like clockwork every year, around this time the local and district councils put their road workforce into action? Is it to piss drivers off to make sure they don't use the roads? Well, thats probably one theory.

It just doesn't make sence to have roadworks during autum/winter time when it's blowing a gale and pouring down with rain, surely this prolongs the work and costs more money.

The other question is why don't they do this during the summer when the weather is dry and less cars on the road? — Oh yeah, I forgot. It's bloody health and safety! Can't have workmen/women working in the scorching heat, they might suffer from dehydration.

England has really gone to pot over this, but then again it could be me bitching about roadworks and the fact it adds another 30 minutes onto my traviling time. I wouldn't mind, but it already takes me an hour to get to work without taking a detour.

Part 2 - Chain e-mail

One thing that bugs me apart from wet weather road works is that unfortunate phanomina of chain e-mail. It has taken me MONTHS to get a spam free e-mail address, and to which I believe I have done a good job of only using this e-mail address for private and business use only. People that have this e-mail address are a few friends, businesses I regularly do business with, such as my bank have this address. Now if I have given my e-mail address in good faith, I expect thoes to have it to use my details wisely and not pass it around.

Today I received the following chain e-mail;

How exciting!

Dear Sainsbury's Shoppers! !

As part of our marketing exercise we will be giving away ?60 gift vouchers.

Yes you read it right, Free gift vouchers, no catch. All you have to do
is forward this email on to 10 friends & a copy to J.sainsburys@customerservices.com , simple as that.

Well, the most obvious thing that stick out immediately is the e-mail address. Why on earth would a huge supermarket chain use the domain 'customerservices.com'? I know for a fact they have their own domain name, customer services, and supermarkets located all around this god forsaken country!

So for thoes people that DO have my e-mail address. Please DO NOT forward it on to other people/companies without my concent.

    ARGHH! I hate chain e-mails! I can't believe there are still people in this world who are stupid enough to think they work...
