Well, it’s been nearly a week since coming home from seeing my fianceé Nessy in Montréal. Trouble is, I’ve been busy with work, the flying club, etc. I’ve simply not had the time to write about the time I spent there.

As usual, Nessy was her amazing self. It was great to see her again after four months since the last visit. I got there, only to go partying the very next night! Anyway, before I even got there, I have a short story to tell.

Before setting off on this magical adventure, I checked in for my flight on-line the day before my flight. I arrived at the airport terminal to check-in my bags. Upon checking them in the attendant couldn’t find my seat on the plane. A worrying moment. A minute later he said “Oh, looks like you’ve had an involuntary upgrade!”, I was thinking “Cool! I’ll be flying club class!”. The attendant went on to say, “You’ve been upgraded to business class.”. RESULT! Anyway, it was a breeze going though security and getting on the plane. I’m getting ready and strapped in to my seat, when an announcement comes on saying “We’re having problems with our navigation computer, it failed the pre-flight checks, we’re attempting to fix the problem”. To cut a long story short, they had to reboot the entire plane and we took off four hours later. Needless to say, I arrived late in Montréal.

Back to the night after the flight. Had a big family New Years/Christmas party with Nessy’s family. It was great to finally meet them all. Some of them didn’t speak great English, then again, my French isn’t very good either, but we managed to get along and have a good time.

During the week, we did the usual sightseeing things, such as the Old Port, IMAX Movie, Shopping, etc.
