Use your £%&!*^@ indicators!
It’s not hard to do, it’s that little stick on your steering wheel column with the arrows which turns them on and off. I travel on average 80 miles a day, to and from work. The drive isn’t so bad, but it’s the people who don’t think they have the need to use indicators. It’s in the frickin’ highway code!
Signals warn and inform other road users, including pedestrians (see ‘Signals to other road users’), of your intended actions. You should always
- give clear signals in plenty of time, having checked it is not misleading to signal at that time
- use them to advise other road users before changing course or direction, stopping or moving off
cancel them after use
All I ask is that people use common sense and use their indicators. I can’t count the number of times I have had to guess or even become a mind reader, especially at roundabouts! Giving some kind of clue (especially when you can’t see ’round a bend!) of where you’re going will make everyone’s lives a little easier, and hopefully prevent a few road accidents.
